it is not long now before the new season starts. Putting the clocks forward
always seems a key moment as spring arrives and things start to happen outside
in preparation for cricket.
was good seeing those members who were able to attend the AGM, which is another
key event for the club. My thanks goes to those members who did not seek
re-election this year for their contribution and also to those who have either
remained in their role or taken on a new role.
has already commenced on the square which has been cut and is ready for rolling
which will take place over the coming weeks. We were late starting due to the
weather but hopefully we will be able to catch up.
we have said many times previously, the more members that can help, the easier
it is so please try to spare some time, even if it is just for an hour or so,
to help on the ground over the coming weeks. There is a pre-season ground work
plan which has been prepared; if you are able to add your name to that it would
be much appreciated.
main pre-season groundwork day will be on Saturday 7th April, with
the following Saturday as a contingency if the weather is too poor on the 7th.
redecoration of the pavilion is coming along nicely and should be finished in
the near future. Work to carry out repairs following the water leak is also
colts and adult nets have been really well supported and enjoyed by those who
club continues to open most Fridays evenings and will be open for the first
selection evening in April.
